A play-based approach to life and learning
For over 70 years Silverman Preschool has nurtured relationships with parents, children, and the community as we seek to develop the whole child. We create learning opportunities to develop the social-emotional, cognitive, and physical skills needed in all stages of life. Developmental milestones such as playing with others, learning to communicate, and reaching academic goals are achieved through play and exploration. We celebrate Jewish holidays and traditions with weekly Shabbat, Tot Shabbat, Family Shabbat, and family celebrations during the High Holidays. Our curriculum includes a variety of enrichment activities to make coming to school an exciting experience such as weekly story time, visits with animals, and a very special winter snow day. Our teachers have made early childhood education their career, and continue their learning through college courses, seminars, and workshops.
Silverman Preschool is located in San Diego, CA. We serve many local neighborhoods, including San Carlos, Del Cerro, Allied Gardens, College Area, and Mission Valley, as well as the communities of La Mesa, Spring Valley, El Cajon, and Santee.

Gesher: our new TK class
Silverman Preschool is offering a TK class called Gesher starting this fall for the 2023-24 school year! Gesher means "bridge" in Hebrew, and this is exactly what Transitional Kindergarten is all about, a bridge into Kindergarten.
About Gesher TK:
Designed for ages 4-5 years
Instructional hours are 8:30a.m.-2:45p.m.
Before and after school care provided from 7:30a.m.-8:30a.m. and 3:00p.m.-5:30p.m.
Gesher’s play-based curriculum and program will be parallel to the UTK classes offered through the public school district. The Gesher class will meet each child's individual needs and challenge them socially, emotionally, and academically, allowing children to discover and grow their own strengths in a safe and nurturing environment that promotes Judaic morals and values. Gesher is truly a gift of an extra year!
