Silverman’s 2 year old (Tziporim) class has been busy getting back into the swing of things. The first two weeks was a transitional period for some children, who are just starting their preschool journey and have never been away from mom and dad, but things are moving along now.
Currently, the skills the children are working on are colors, shapes, fine motor skills, and puzzles. In order for the children to learn and practice those skills, they have been incorporated into a variety of projects. So far, class projects for Tziporim include: water painting, paper plate painting with rollers, cars, cookie cutters, decorating a tree with stickers, free painting with color mixing, and color recognition with markers and crayons.
The children have also enjoyed having some special books read to them. “Llama Llama Misses Mama” was a great one to help children cope with being away from mom or dad for the first time and being at school. Another timeless book the children have enjoyed is, “The Very Hungry Caterpillar”, by Eric Carle. Its a great book to learn about colors and different foods. Finally, the children enjoyed, “Thank You for Me” by Marion Dane Bauer. Its a great book for children to learn confidence and self awareness.
Here are some photos from the first two weeks….
