It was a busy month’s for the infants, as they welcomed two new teachers this month, both Ms. Amanda and Ms. Kelsi. Ms. Amanda helped to revamp our library area by sharing her love of books and displaying the weekly library books in the clear covers and posting pictures of the children reading with their teachers.
This month, Silverman’s infant class explored emotions and feelings through different colors. Red was for angry, blue was for sad, yellow was happy. We also had a pajama day during the last week of October, which was fun.
The babies did a red ice sensory project where they froze some objects such as cars, stacking cups, and legos. Once frozen, the kids got the touch the objects so they could feel the ice. They also did some “angry art” to go with their feelings and emotions, where they made a mad face with red finger paint. Lastly, the kids made sleep sheeps by gluing cotton balls onto sheep cut outs.
The teachers shared the book, “The Napping House” by Audrey Wood, “Day Dreamers” by Emily Winfield Martin, and Dr. Suess’ “The Sleep Book”.
