Over the month of February, the Kochavim class learned about the letters, N, O, P, and Q. The children enjoyed participating in various art activities, such as night sky, painting the ocean, using foil, Q-Tip painting. and making vacunias.
The class read a book that corresponded with each letter of the week. For example, for the letter, “N”, they read the books, “The Folklore of Norway” and “My N Sound Box”, for the letter “Q” the book was “Quiet and Loud”, for the letter “P” it was “Pirates Go To School”.
Silverman’s Pre-K class continued to work on their social, memory, and writing skills. The children practiced writing their last names, along with their first names. Coloring and using scissors were the ways the kids were able to practice and enhance their fine motor skills, along with playing with slime and play-doh!
This month the class did a lot of cooking activities. They made pizzas and oatmeal for snack and had a lot of fun playing with cooked noodles. The children also got to experiment with oil and water and see which substance is heavier.
