December was all about Chanukah for Silverman’s Pre-K (Kochavim) class. We spent the month creating various Chanukah themed art projects, learning different Chanukah songs, reading books, etc.
Kochavim’s various art projects included a Chanukah mobile, decorating dreidels, making Chanukah cards, and creating Chanukah headbands.
The class also learned a couple of Chanukah songs and some dances to go along with them, which they really enjoyed!
They love reading Chanukah books in December. This year they enjoyed, “Sammy Spider’s First Hanukkah”, “Runaway Dreidel”, “The Magic Dreidels”, and “What is Hanukkah”. The children also loved having Rabbi Josh stop by and read, “Clifford Celebrates Chanukah”.
Silverman’s Pre-K class is still also working their way through the alphabet. This month, the focus was on letter “I”. The children made colored ice cubes and igloos. And finally, the children have continued to practice writing their first and last names, as well as their friend’s names.
