We began working on our winter snow village and have been adding a new wintery item each week. During Chanukah we spun the dreidel and talked about the miracle of the holiday.
The kids are learning to make independent choices and do things without being asked, such as cleaning up messes, packing up lunch boxes, and helping those in need.
The books we have read recently have to do with Chanukah and winter. As a class, we have read, “Ice is Nice”, “Polar Bear, Polar Bear, What do you Hear”, “The Best Hanukkah Ever”, and “Melly’s Menorah”.
As we move toward the end of December and into January, we will begin exploring ice…. how its made, how to melt it, and how animals stay warm. The children have enjoyed learning about, and celebrating Chanukah and winter.
