The first few weeks of school have been busy for Silverman’s Pre-K class! The class has been reading and discussing different topics of books. The first book was “The Hardest Word” followed by “Why Noah Chose the Dove”. There was also a fun project connected to the book. After reading “Jonah and the Great Big Fish”, the kids got to cut out whales and decorate them, which they thoroughly enjoyed.
The Jewish New Year has also kept the class quite engaged. They read “Engineer Ari and the Rosh Hashanah Ride” and “How the Rosh Hashanah Challah Became Round”. They also made an apple project to help the children learn about the holiday. Rabbi even paid them a special visit to blow the Shofar for them!
Now that it is Sukkot time, the kids have been snacking and eating lunch in the sukkah and even got to make a sukkah of their own out of crackers, cream cheese, and string cheese.
All of these fun activities have helped the children work on their ability to listen, follow directions, and further develop their fine motor skills. We are all looking forward to an exciting fall season!
