Our gesher class has been busy this January. The children have moved from learning about cold winter days to nursery rhymes. We have worked on fine motor skills by doing things such as stringing, beading, and cutting.
We have read books like “It’s Raining, It’s Pouring”, “Hey Diddle Diddle”, and “Do You Know the Muffin Man”?
Ms. Bonnie has done a great job introducing a lot of self help / independence to the children. They are becoming more independent in class projects and have become more hands on as well. It’s been great seeing the children have a new sense of pride in their creations.
The class has also played different music during each transition. Fun preschool circle time songs during art and creative play. Upbeat classical music during reading, snack, and lunchtime. They have been chanting / singing right along and now request more music! They love having the small speaker in the middle of the table to hum / sing along to.
A note from Ms. Bonnie:
“I see the children gaining more confidence each and every day. They have begun to really befriend each other in the classroom and develop a great comradery. The children feel more relaxed and no one is excluded. They are very encouraging of each other and have done a fantastic job welcoming a new friends to the room, making her feel apart of the class. I couldn’t be happier with the group of kids I have!”
