Silverman’s Tziporim 1 class spent the last couple weeks of school talking about zoo and farm animals, more specifically, what kinds of products we get from farm animals. The children made lion, fox, bunny, and panda faces out of paper plates. Other art projects included gluing yellow feathers onto chicks and putting spots on giraffe’s and cows.
The children loved listening to different animals sounds and getting to imitate those sounds as well as learning different animal movements and imitating those, like galloping like a horse and waddling like a duck.
Some of the books they read included: “My Day on The Farm”, “Animals in the Zoo”, “Going to the Zoo”, and “If Anything Ever Goes Wrong at the Zoo”.
The class also spent a lot of time talking about their favorite characteristics of different animals, what they look like, what they sound like, what they like to do, and things they like to eat.
Overall, the children enjoyed all things animals and learned a lot!
