The last couple of weeks, Silverman’s Parparim 2 class has been busy talking about space and the solar system. They created a 3-D solar system that is currently hanging in class to help the kids see the planets. They also made themselves into astronauts and made aliens. The kids also worked on some different styles of art, such as pop art and realism. We finished the month discussing the United States and where we live.
We continue to work on fine motor skills by playing with lots of slime, painting, and using scissors. As a class, we built our 3-D solar system and welcomed a new friend.
These last few weeks, we read books like “There’s No Place Like Space” , “Our Wonderful Earth”, “The Moon”, “The Big Book of Stars and Planets”, and a printout book called, “California Information”.
The children have really enjoyed learning and talking about space and where we live. Here are some fun quotes to share:
“The Sun is hot. I like to be warm.”
“This slime is sticky and looks like the stars.”
